Enjoy a pleasant, 7-mile bike ride to Dame Farm in Johnston for some classic, Autumn apple picking. This trip will leave from Riverside Park in Providence and travel along the Woonasquatucket River Greenway bike path. Where the paved path ends in Johnston, you’ll travel on-road along Greenville Avenue, passing by many of Johnston’s scenic farms and Snake Den State State Park. Participants must bring their own bicycle (in good working order) and wear a helmet. Also, be sure to bring a back-pack or basket for your bag of fresh-picked apples. This ride is 14-miles round trip, with some steep hills, and will take about 4 hours.
Visit WRWC.ORG/EVENTS to register for this bike ride and to see the full “Explore the Woonasquatucket” recreational series schedule. Advance sign-up is required.
